Defining a Plumbing Emergency and What Can Wait

Many plumbing companies rely on the enormous upcharges for emergency plumbing service to increase their bottom lines, taking advantage of homeowners' lack of knowledge to charge them an arm and a leg for repairs that can usually be fixed during a later scheduled appointment. Pioneer Plumbing and Heating offers emergency plumbing services of its own, but we'd rather come make our repairs during regular business hours if the problem can wait. Here's what we'd define as a plumbing emergency.

Emergencies

Most "plumbing emergencies" can actually be solved or temporarily stopped until a regular plumbing appointment can be made. However, gas leaks, heating problems in winter, and burst pipes are widely considered to be issues that should be corrected immediately.

What Can Wait

Non-essential plumbing components can usually be shut off until regular business hours. We understand there's sometimes some panic involved when a faucet springs a leak, but having some basic plumbing skills can be the difference between a quick fix or a massive plumbing bill. If possible, use another sink or toilet until a plumber can come solve your problems.

Every homeowner should keep an emergency plumbing kit on-hand to deal with issues as they arise. When things get out of control or you suddenly find yourself knee-deep in water, give Pioneer Plumbing and Heating a call and we'll sort out your plumbing problems in no time.
